hi, my name is katherine feng.

i'm from a small town in the south and go to school at washu in st. louis and am currently living in new york city (summer 2025).

i like creating things woohoooooooo, food, and being outdoors. also crosswords, hot yoga and pilates, soccer, and my local music scene @ home.

i taught myself to play the guitar a few years ago, and when i'm at home i play in my friends' band Tangerine Scene.

here are my favorite things:

  • books: educated by tara westover, know my name by chanel miller, all about love by bell hooks, pachinko by min jin lee, demon copperhead by barbara kingsolver, a woman is no man by etaf rum
  • food: dan dan noodles from kitchen in the desert in 29 palms, cold soba noodles from asakusa hirayama in tokyo, everything from men-ya inoichi in kyoto, jersey shore's favorite mike's way from jersey mike's subs, chai pani in asheville,
  • hiking trails: eagle lake in lake tahoe, paradise falls in nc, rainbow falls and turtleback falls in gorges state park in nc, hetchy hetch loop in yosemite
  • favorite songs: i want you (fever) by momma, erase me (main) by kid cudi, affection by between friends, roses by the chainsmokers, blue coupe by twin peaks, acolyte by slaughter, beach dog, anything by adrienne lenker, vampire empire by adrienne lenker, change by big thief (i like adrienne lenker a lot)
  • general recommendations: living by the 4 agreements (even though they're kind of silly i enjoy them a lot), spending as much time getting to know the ppl around u as possible, building your village, slowing down once in a while or maybe just all the time
  • favorite saying: being hateful is like taking the poison and expecting the other person to die. apparently this is a cringy motto that my friends like to make fun of a lot but i think it's good to follow
